How to keep the correct sitting posture?

First, let us look at two pictures.

In the picture above, the one on the left is the wrong sitting posture.

Usually, almost all computer users are in such a wrong posture, which leads to excessive bending of the first and second cervical vertebrae, and then the following sections of the cervical vertebrace hyperextension, prone to shoulder and neck pain, brachial plexus compression, numb fingers and other symptoms.

The third arrow points to internal rotation of the humerus and hyperflexion of the thoracic spine. This can also lead to shortness of breath, over-engagement of the shoulder and neck muscles, and exacerbating neck problems or eccentric tension that leads to back pain.

The arrows further down indicate the tension changes in the lumbar spine and knee joints…

Generally, this posture can cause various neck and back pain issues, indirectly alter knee strength and increase the risk of a knee injury.

In addition, the reduction of the diaphragm can also lead to poor breathing, making the heart take on the responsibility of supplying too much oxygen, so the rapid heartbeat, anxiety, and high blood pressure are also caused by this.

How to improve the wrong sitting posture?

The correct position is to pull the chin and head back to the shoulders, pull the shoulder blades back, and turn the arms slightly to open the chest, while the shoulder blades drop as far as possible, pulling the collarbone into a straight line. Straighten the spine so that the weight of the upper body rests on the sitting bones, keep the waist and abdomen tight, and maintain the posture of the spine. When the feet are directly in front of the knees, both feet and knees point straight ahead. Also, if you sit for too long, some muscles start to tire and the pelvis becomes unstable, so you need to consider the back of the chair. Based on this correct posture, when looking at the phone, you need to hold the phone up and avoid bowing your head.
